It is hard to imagine when first arriving at the Oberoi that this resort offers only 71 rooms. Divided into Pavilions and Villas, each room is incredibly spacious with plenty of full-length glass and a traditional thatched roof with exposed beams overhead. The spaces here are truly breathtaking.
Inside, the décor is a combination of traditional Mauritian and modern rustic with a light and open feel. Vaulted ceilings only add to the wonderfully spacious vibe. Furnishings are made with a mixture of traditional Mauritian wood, rattan and modern materials that create a sense of innovative charm and quirkiness. Everything is nicely accented by unique artwork.
All of the Pavilions and Villas include en suite bathroom with separate shower/tub combination and deep soaking bathtub, designer toiletries, luxurious bathrobes, slippers, hair dryer, flat screen LCD TV with satellite channels, DVD player, MP3 docking station, desk, free Wi-Fi, minibar, free bottled water, in-room safe, and fully furnished balcony or patio. An iron, ironing board, and a microwave can be supplied on request.

The Oberoi Mauritius features three on-site restaurants offering guests comfortable and welcoming dining experiences throughout the day and evening. Room service is also available for 24-hour in-room dining. The restaurant options are:
•The Restaurant – Serving as the hotel's main dining area, The Restaurant overlooks the ocean for spectacular views at any time. Breakfast features an international buffet under the pavilion or in the open air; dinner is a more formal event featuring Asian, Creole and international cuisine nightly. Dine under the pavilion or the stars, amidst enchanting wood sculptures and the mesmerising reflection pool.
•On The Rocks – You can enjoy a unique dining experience at On The Rocks. This lunch and dinner venue gets its name from its position on a mound of lava rocks overlooking Turtle Bay. The menu features fresh seafood as well as grilled meats, salads, pasta and wood-fired pizza. On the other hand, perhaps your successful fishing trip on the Bay means the chef will be preparing your catch to your specifications.
•The Gunpowder Room – What used to be the Wine Cellar is now known as the Gunpowder Room. This uniquely intimate restaurant is housed in a former gunpowder store dating back to the French colonial era; the building is considered a national monument. The restaurant serves traditional Mauritian food paired with local wines; periodic wine tastings are also available during the week.
