Restaurant
The dining experience at Sands evokes images of sitting down with friends in a local Mauritian village for great food and conversation. Guests can choose from among four different restaurants and, at limited times during the day, room service as well. Restaurant options are as follows:
•Tamarind Terrace – This beautiful space includes a large dining area under a thatched roof with an open-air feel. Enjoy a bountiful hot and cold breakfast buffet compliments of the resort as you look out over the turquoise blue waters. Dinner features an international buffet with different flavours and textures from around the world.
•Spices – For a fine dining experience overlooking the ocean and garden, consider Spices. The restaurant offers another beautiful space in which to enjoy traditional Indian Ocean cuisine with its many spices and robust flavours. Menu choices at Spices are offered à la carte; al fresco dining can be arranged if the weather permits.
•PinkPepperCorn – This is a small and intimate restaurant with just a few tables cleverly situated on the beach, underneath two stately coqueluche trees with a pink peppercorn tree nearby. The restaurant serves both lunch and dinner, specialising in local Mauritian recipes with an emphasis on fresh fish and grilled lobster.
•Dolphin Bar – The Dolphin Bar is the resort's focal point for social gatherings, offering tantalising cocktails and exotic drinks beginning in the late afternoon. For lunch, however, you can enjoy delicious international cuisine in a very traditional setting with stunning views of the water. The Dolphin Bar is open daily for lunch.
